This project was my fourth and final project of this term. I really enjoyed this one because it focused on automation. Basically the sound i was looking for was a techno beat. Thats what I got. I simply put together a basic drum loop with a beat every four steps and then a clap on the 2nd and 7th step. After that I took the master volume and had the volume either go up or down when I wanted it to. Then i took the slayer and added a simple riff over the drums. I chopped it, and then did the same thing by adding automation with the sound. When you listen to my beat you will be able to hear the different levels of sound throughout the pattern. I think this gives it flow and makes it sound a whole lot better. After the slayer, i simply put in a simple bass part and made sure it flowed nicely. Once I heard it did, I was done with my fourth project, and with the techno sound I wanted..I was happy. ENJOY!!

cool loop, i liked all the sounds you used and they sound good together. however, i dont think that they were put together correctly. The hand claps sound kind of random and the volume modulation on the main rif is also kind of random. You said there is bass in the loop but i don't really hear it. This has great potential, but i think you just need to work out a few kinks and tighten it up a bit. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteGreat job gabby! This is a great loop and it kind of reminds me of the geico commercial haha. well anyway, your loop seems to be good except the claps in you loop seem to be out of place. over all good job :)
ReplyDeleteNice job with this. You definitely got the techno sound you were looking for. I like the chopped melody you used for the slayer, it sounded really good with the drums. The only real complaint I have is that the volume seems to dip a little too low in some places. I do like how it goes up and down, though. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI like the transposition, and the automation of the filters of the synth (Simsynth?). I wasn't crazy over the volume changes. I didn't see how they added to the loop.
