This project was my fourth and final project of this term. I really enjoyed this one because it focused on automation. Basically the sound i was looking for was a techno beat. Thats what I got. I simply put together a basic drum loop with a beat every four steps and then a clap on the 2nd and 7th step. After that I took the master volume and had the volume either go up or down when I wanted it to. Then i took the slayer and added a simple riff over the drums. I chopped it, and then did the same thing by adding automation with the sound. When you listen to my beat you will be able to hear the different levels of sound throughout the pattern. I think this gives it flow and makes it sound a whole lot better. After the slayer, i simply put in a simple bass part and made sure it flowed nicely. Once I heard it did, I was done with my fourth project, and with the techno sound I wanted..I was happy. ENJOY!!

For my third project our main focus was on effects. Although adding cool sounds such as reverb and delay was fun, you had to be careful because if there was too much reverb or delay, the piece would sound choppy and bad. Overall the sound I was looking for was kind of a pop/rock type of thing. However, when I started playing around with teh reverb, slayer, and chopp tool, I ended up with almost a symphony sort of sound. I started with four basic kick drums. Then, i simply added a little reverb to them so you could hear a little echo. Next i put in one simple clap on the 4th step and then some various hats throughtout the pattern. I then decided to copy my first pattern and tweek it just a little for my second one. They contrasted nicely and i had two cool patterns. The next thing I did was put a little delay on one of the claps in the second pattern so that they came right after eachother in a cool "clashing" way. After I had my two basic beats, and i had used the reverb and delay, I decided to liven things up a little bit by putting in some slayer notes. I put in a basic couple notes and then chopped them. This made a cool little riff over the beat. I simply played it twice through and then did a contrasting one. Although it wasnt pop/or rock, it was a really cool sounding beat that i liked. i was happy with the way the reverb and delay came out, and was finally done with my third project. However, after i posted it and listened to it I realized that i had 14 extra seconds of absolutely nothing untill the very end where there is a few randome notes. There is no reason for that and I dont know why it did that, so you may not want to waste the extra 14 seconds because theres nothing to listen to! Other than that, Enjoy!!
