This is my finaly blog and project for music tech. The semester ends tomorrow and this is our last class. To finish things off, we did a ringtone project. I have always wanted a really cool rock ringtone but quite frankly I have been to lazy to buy one. However making one, that was cool. I got to decide whatever I watned to do and it was actually very simple. I just put in a simple drum beat and then added the riff over it. i really like it and might just use it. Well, that is my final project and this is my final post.

Today I finally finished my project 7. This was my favorite project because we had so much freedom. I first put a simple drum beat in to start things off. All it is is a couple of kick drums mixed in with a cymbal. Then, the next thing i did was find a beat I liked from the riff machine. It alsmost sounds like and orchestra playing the violin. I liked this a lot and thought that maybe, I would be able to mix this with something techno. That is exactly what i did. I found a bass that sounded really cool and techno so i put it over my riff machine beat. This kind of drowns out the violins, but you can still hear them once in a while which i think is cool. My bass runs through most of song but at times it is the only thing playing which really brings it out and makes it sound bettetr. On top of all of that, I added some FL keys. This added some jazz into my riff which meant I had orchestra, techno, and jazz all in one. Crazy? Yes. Does it work? Yes. I love the sound that came out of all these different types of music. My keys are kind of crazy at times but I like that because it offsets the bass which stays the same throughout. That is my pattern A in my AABA format. I really like how my pattern B came out. Once again I went to the riff machine and even though it took a little while, I found a techno pattern that i liked. My bass does not continue to play during this so I think it sounds great when it comes back in during the first pattern. I also added some keys to play during my second pattern that even though are a different beat then the first pattern, flow really good and offset the first pattern nicely. There are also some claps that are not in the first pattern as well. After my B pattern plays my A pattern simply repeats to complete my AABA format and my project 7! ENJOY!

TOday I feel that so much got done and I am very excited. Last time I ended with puting in a brdige for my AABA pattern. Even though I was happy I did that, i felt it was too empty with just my bass going on in the backround. So today, I put in some piano over it. Not only does this piano flow with the beat, but it also contracts with my previous piano riff in my "A" pattern and I think it sounds really good. It is just a simple six notes that I threw together and chopped. It plays through twice, then at the end there is a little chord. Even though it doesnt seem like a lot, all I have left to do is tweak the rest of my beat and blog. I am very excited!

Today we continued on our project 7. I am very excited because I feel a lot got done today. Not only did i add some more piano in, but I also was able to find the perfect contrasting pattern to complete my AABA format. This pattern sounds almost techno so I think it is really cool because my first part is kinda jazzy and now I go techno. At first I thought it would not work, but then I threw some drums and bass in there and it sounds great. Now all I have to do is add some piano or something into my bridge to make it sound fuller. After that I just need to touch a few things up and then i should be all set. Hopefully I will be done within the next couple of classes.

Today was our first day back from our vacation. Although it has been a couple of weeks i felt it was very easy to slide back into things and continue with my project 7. Since we have so much freedom and so many things to choose from, I am very excited to put in some FL keys to my project. I had a little of them before, but today i really added some jazz riffs that I think are really cool. I might have my keys almost be "free" and do whatever they want because the bass sound and sytrus riff I have in the backround really flow good with it so if I have a crazy piano riff on top of them, it will be really cool because the crazyiness of the piano will offset the melowness of the bass and sytrus. I feel a lot got done today and i am very happy about it. Although i still need to add another pattern in there to fit my AABA format, things are looking really good.

Today we continued on our project 7. I started to mess around with the piano part in my piece. As i said before i am going for a jazzy sound and the piano will really make it sound great. I am having the sound degress down in a very fast pitch way so it sounds really great. Overall I am sad to say nothing really got done, but ideas grew and I think that by the time the new year gets her, everything will be under control and I should have a great piece.

Today we officially started on our project 7. The format I am going to use is AABA. I think this will work very good. The sound I am going for is a jazzy sound. The riff machine as well as the chopping tool made a really cool jazzy riff that I absoluetly love. Hopefully this will grow more and more throughout the week. I hope to add a really cool jazz piano part as well. I think it will turn out good.
